Teen Drivers:
The Government of Texas has adopted Graduated Driver License program especially for the new drivers of the Texas State. Texas GDL allows the new drivers to improve their driving skills.

The Government of Texas implemented this GDL program on January 1, 2002. This Texas GDL consists of 2 phases.
- Phase 1 – Learner License Phase.
- Phase 2 – Provisional License Phase.
Phase 1 – Learner License Phase:
The Teen residents of Texas whose age is below 18 years and intend to apply the Texas Class A or Class B or Class C driver’s license, before getting the Texas Provisional License they must apply for the Learner License through Texas GDL Program and after getting it, the holder must hold it for a minimum period of 6 months.

After turning to 16, if the applicant has held the phase 1 Learner License for six months if the applicant completes the driver education and completes the Impact Texas Drivers (ITD) those applicant will be eligible for taking the Drive test to get the Provisional License. If you pass the Drive test conducted by the Driver License, you can earn your Texas Provisional License.
