How to apply for Pennsylvania Learner Permit?
The residents of Pennsylvania who intend to apply for a Pennsylvania Diver License, first they must apply for the Learner Permit. The residents of Pennsylvania whose age is 16 years or above they can apply for Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit. For applying the Learner Permit applicants must visit their nearest Pennsylvania Driver License Center in person.

- Step 1: After turning in to 16 years, read the Pennsylvania Drivers Manual. Prepare for the Pennsylvania Knowledge Test.
- Step2: Visit your nearest physician or physician assistant or chiropractor to take a physical examination.
- Step3: After the completion of physical examination, fill the Non-commercial Lerner’s Permit application – DL-180.

- After getting the Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit, during this six months period you have to practice driving in the presence of a supervised driver for 65 hours. This 65 hours driving practice includes 10 hours night driving practice and 5 hours bad weather driving practice.
- After the successful completion of 65 hours supervised driving practice, Visit the Pennsylvania DMV official portal to schedule a Drive test online. Or you can even book for drive test by telephone – 1-800-423-5542.
- On the appointment day, visit the Driver License Center along with your valid learner’s permit, supervised driver’s valid License, vehicle, vehicle insurance and Vehicle registration.
- Take the Drive Test and pass it to earn your Pennsylvania Driver License.

Proof of Secondary Identity:
The residents of Pennsylvania who intend to apply or who are applying for the Pennsylvania driver License, while applying they have to submit one Primary Identification Document, if any one who cannot submit the Primary Identification document in such case he/she can submit any two secondary identification documents from the below mentioned list.
