Eligibility applying for California Drivers License:
- Applicant must be a resident of California State.
- Applicant’s age must be 18 years or above.
Apply California Drivers License Online – when you are 18 years old:
- Visit the DMV official website.
- Select your nearest DMV office.
- Make an appointment for visiting DMV office.
- On the day of your appointment, visit the selected DMV office along with the required documents and prescribed fees applying for the Driver license.
- Take a Driver License or Identification Card Application form or DL 44 Application form.
- Fill the DL 44 application form and take the sign of one of your parents or a guardian.
- Appear for the Vision Test and pass it.
- Submit the completely filled DL 44 along with the required supporting documents to make an appointment for DMV written test.
- Visit the DMV office on the day of your appointment and appear for the DMV written test.
- After passing your DMV written test, pay the prescribed fees of $35 to get your California Provisional Permit.
- The prescribed fees of $35 include the fees for all the three tests which have to be completed by the applicant within 12 months. (California Provisional Permit, California Learner’s Permit and California Drivers License).
- After the successful completion of 50 hours driver training with a 25-year-old California driver’s license holder, California provisional permit holder will be eligible applying for California Provisional License.
- Select your nearest California DMV office.
- Visit the selected California DMV office.
- Take the appointment for DMV road test.
- Appointment for appearing DMV road test can be made through online also.
- On the day of your appointment visit your selected California DMV office along with the above-said required documents, vehicle and your parent or a guardian.
- Your parent or guardian must sign the instruction permit.
- After the successful completion of the road test, you will get California Provisional license with a couple of restrictions.
